Yesterday was one of the hardest days I have had in a long time. I rescued a female yorkie 6 years ago from a puppy mill. She was shy, afraid of her own shadow, thin and we loved her so much. In the last year or so age has caught up with her, her eyesight failed, she got a form of doggy alzheimers, she would wander the house. She lost her hearing, I still selfishly could not part with her. Saturday morning we awke to find she had broken her leg, the vet said her bones were so brittle from age it could have happened at anytime. We basically had no choice but to help her peacefully depart this life. We held her and told her how much we loved her, and then she was gone. Her name was Kylie and she will forever remain a part of my heart.

Hi Barb and crew!
Just want to let you that Misty (aka Dejour) is doing fantastic! We have never once regretted driving from northern Ontario to Indiana to adopt her....and we'd do it again in a heartbeat!

It has been over a year now, since I transported Lily to a woman in the Findlay, OH area, who was affiliated with your organization. I worked in a vet's office & Lily was a puppy who had been up for sale until the breeder dropped her & couldn't sell her. She was brought into our clinic because she had no use of her hinde legs. The breeder was going to euthanize her until I offered to take her home. I spent alot of time & money on trying to undo what had already been done. Lily received several accupuncture treatments & was also treated with Chinese herbs. She was about 6 months old when I turned her over to your organization. I felt like I had done all that I could do & now was the time to allow someone else to take over. My major concern was that she not be euthanized & I was assured that this was something your organization did not do.
When Lily was first transferred to Findlay, she saw a vet & was told that the damage that had been done could not be surgically fixed. She was transferred a short while later to a foster home in Indiana that had less dogs in it.
When I last saw Lily on your website, she was available for adoption & had been spayed. The description indicated that the foster parents didn't care if she ever used her hinde legs - they loved her just the same.
My daughter asks about Lily all the time. Giving her to you was a difficult thing for my daughter & I, because we loved Lily enough to save her, but were afraid we were holding her back by holding on to her.
Our Lily had great spirit & ran all over our house & backyard. All I want to know is who adopted her - her foster parents; a family; a single person; whoever. We need to know for our own sake, as we feel like we turned her over to you & now she is lost.
Please let us now how things turned out for our sweet little Lily.
Thanks!
Sheila & Nicole

What I wouldn't give to be able to adopt Lizzie, I am truly addicted to toy breeds - having five of my own - but whats one more I always say!

I'll be in touch once relocated to Fort Wayne. I have been involved with "Rescue Me" for a couple of years, doing home study's, as well as fostering senior babies, usually blind, deaf, or both.
I have recently added a member to my home. His name is now "Duncan", and he spect most of his 7 years being passed from one "breeder" to the next.......not any more! He is making great progress in all areas.
My $9,200 Lhasa Apso was skeptical in the beginning but they have now decided sleeping together, with dad, works for all of us. Giz ruptured a disc on both sides but we were able to save him by having spinal surgery, followed by 10 months of physical therapy, and water tank. He can't ever go up or down steps again so he has a ramp and other than that, he's carried in and out, lifted up and down off the sofa and bed, but he's still with me.....

I adopted Camry on April 20, 2008 and we have named her Camry. She is wonderful, but still very scared of all the new noises in our home. I am sure she will do fine given time and lots of love.

We adopted Tony in October of 2007. He was anemic, underweight, and generally seemed sad. Today he is almost overweight and is joyful. He spends his time with his brother, Colt, a pug, and his sister Grace, a lab. I cant' believe anyone would ever have thrown this sweet lovable animal away. he is a true joy and i only wish I could adopt more.

Everyday we are so grateful for having adopted Mick from IPPRA. We are getting married soon and we think we are going to make a donation to IPPRA in lieu of giving our guests a little gift to take home. You guys do great work!! Thankk you!
