River is doing great and is coming out of his shell quite nicely. He still follows his foster mom everywhere he goes and is starting to enjoy a little play time with the other pupsters in his foster home. He was just moved to a new foster him this week so he has a new foster mom.

Greetings Humans! My name is River. I am 5 years old and around 8-9 pounds. The past month has not been too pleasant for me. My parents had to move and could not take me with them so they contacted the Angels. I was a bit of a mess upon arrival and got a really short hair cut. I looked pretty goofy. I was at the lady’s who cut all my hair off for a few days and then I went on another trip. I spent a day at a dogtors office where they knocked me out and cut more stuff off of me plus poked me with needles. Geesh! It’s been quite the experience.
So I was laying low and hiding out because that was not very enjoyable at all. At first I was really scared of everything and of the other fur friends here. But this lady that is taking care of me now is not so bad after all. She is very kind to me, she feeds me,
pets me, gives me treats, a soft bed to sleep in, protects me and stuff. So I came out of hiding and I follow her everywhere. I am sticking to her like glue.
She told me she is going to find me an even better home where I will get all the attention and I won’t have to be afraid anymore. So I am supposed to tell you all I am available to go live at my new home right now and you should complete an application to adopt me right away.
River is being fostered in NW Indiana and ready for adoption.

Unless otherwise stated in the profile, all of our foster dogs require a fenced in yard.
IPPRA DOES NOT SHIP ITS DOGS. Please be advised that we do not transport. You will be responsible for coming to pick up your new dog on adoption day. The general location for each foster dog is listed in its profile. Preference is given to local applicants. Our Special Needs dogs (medical issues, seniors, puppy mill rescues, emotional issues) must be adopted close to their foster homes.
PLEASE NOTE - There are NO exceptions to filling out an application. Our dogs are in private foster homes, not a shelter facility. All of our rescue dogs are altered, up to date on vaccinations, flea-free and on heartworm prevention. We check references and do a home visit. Only an approved application may adopt one of our rescue dogs.
